The eagles blow their home opener in a very Eagles way
On a game in which the Eagles had 9 penalties and gave away the game in the final minutes there isn’t a lot to celebrate, but let’s take a look at the bright spots.

Offensive Player of the Game - Jalen Hurts
Despite the tough loss, Hurts showcased his dual-threat ability, finishing the game with 85 rushing yards and two total touchdowns, one through the air and one on the ground. His scrambling kept the Eagles in the game, and he connected on key plays, including a 7-yard touchdown pass to DeVonta Smith in the second quarter.

Defensive Player of the Game - C.J. Gardner-Johnson
C.J. came up with some big stops, including a highlight play where he stuffed Falcons’ star running back Bijan Robinson on a fourth-down attempt. His ability to read the Falcons’ offensive schemes and make timely tackles was key in keeping the game close until the final minutes.
